Galleria Degli Uffizi

The Galleria degli Uffizi is located in Florence and his home to a prestigious art collection. During the 1700’s the Medici family used many of the rooms to hold their prestigious and rather coveted art pieces. These galleries were used as the magistrate’s courts during that time. The entire gallery was comprised of 40 rooms and was home to many pieces by Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.

Auckland War Memorial Museum

The Auckland War Memorial Museum in Auckland, New Zealand is located on the Maori hill. It has been there since 1929 and was built in memory of those who had fought in their war and died. It is considered to be one of New Zealand’s best heritage museums.

When you first step up to the Auckland War Memorial Museum you will notice the beautiful views over the Cenotaph forecourt to the Domain. Beyond that is the Waitemata Harbour city. Once you step inside the museum you will be amazed at the structure and memorials inside.

Louvre Museum - Paris, France

The Louvre Museum is located in Paris, France and is one of the world’s most popular and well visited art museums. Not only is it a historical museum - but is stands as an historical landmark for France. is the world’s most visited art museum, a historic monument, and a national museum of France. It house close to 35,000 objects from the 6th millennium BCE to the 19th century CE.

Museu Picasso - Barcelona

The Museu Picasso in Barcelona was created and designed to be a tribute to one of its favorite adopted sons. It holds a fabulous collection or art pieces that is displayed in three medieval palaces that are adjoined together. Picasso was born in Malaga - but he began his career in the arts in Barcelona.

You will have the opportunity to view many of Picasso’s engravings, lithographs, engravings, and paintings. Many of the art pieces include the Harlequin - a portrait of one of his wives (Jacqueline) and the Las Meninas series.

Whaling Museum - Nantucke, MA

The Whaling Museum is located in Nantucke, Massachusetts and is one of the more unusual museums that you will have a chance to discover. The museum was once an 1846 candle factory. Now it shows off the history of whaling - which is something that is not to be missed.

The museum houses many collections of artifacts. One of the best artifacts to view is the skeleton of a 46 foot sperm whale, large scrimshaw collection, the 16 foot glass prism from Sankaty Head Light, and many portraits of famous sea captains.

Savannah History Museum - Savannah, GA

The Savannah History Museum is located inside the Savannah Visitor Information Center and gives tourists a look at the history and background that has made Savannah such a great city. It has a very welcoming atmosphere to it and offers a variety of exhibits.

However, these exhibits are obviously in no particular order making it a little more difficult to determine the timeline of events. Savannah, Georgia had played a large part during the Civil Way - but there is not much in the museum that displays this. Instead they offer more details on World War I and II.

Fort Montagu

Fort Montagu is located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas and is one of the most exclusive and extensive fort that you will ever be able to set eyes on. It is the oldest for ton the island and dates back all the way to 1741. Its architecture shows off the brilliant engineering of the British at that time.

Iolani Palace - Honolulu, Hawaii

The Iolani Palace in Honolulu, Hawaii was built in 1882 by David Kalakaua. Kalakaua was the last king of Hawaii. The palace is three storied high and is a great place to discover some of the history of Hawaii.

After the overthrow of the King’s sister Queen Liliuokalani in 1893, the structure served as the territorial and state capitol until 1969. The Palace Galleries showcases jewels and regalia from the days of Hawaiian royalty. Guided tours are offered every 30 minutes and reservations are suggested.

Telfair Museum of Art - Savannah, GA

The Telfair Museum of Art opened in 1886 when Mary Telfair left all of her belongings and estate to the Georgia Society. The museum is now the oldest art museum in the Southern territory.

Made up of three buildings, with very different, but equally fascinating architecture, the art and cultural artifacts inside are not the only jewels to see. The Telfair Academy has a neo-classical design and offers a glimpse into 19th century life.
